Project Walk Achieves Impressive Results with StemWave Therapy
Project Walk has recently integrated StemWave therapy into their neurorehabilitation programs, and the results have been nothing short of remarkable. StemWave is helping patients at Project Walk reduce their pain medication, address and heal pain stemming from neurological issues, and even make significant advancements in recovery for spinal cord injuries.
Reducing Neuropathy and Pain Medication
As reported by Daniele Crutcher, Chief Operating Officer at Project Walk, “One of the most encouraging outcomes is the reduction in lower leg extremity neuropathy.”

Clients who previously depended on nerve pain medications like gabapentin are experiencing significant relief and decreasing their medication usage.
A standout case involves a client who suffered from severe nerve pain rated at 9/10 on a pain level scale, necessitating medication three times a day.
After undergoing StemWave treatments, she reported her pain levels reduced by half, allowing her to participate in training sessions with minimal discomfort. This reduction in pain led to enhanced focus, balance, and coordination during her sessions.
Remarkably, she began to forget to take her pain relief medication, as she remained pain-free for the first time in three years. She is now on a path to potentially eliminating her medication altogether, thanks to the effectiveness of StemWave therapy.

Positive Impact on Stroke and TBI Clients
Project Walk’s stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI) clients have also reported significant benefits. Several have experienced pain relief in their upper extremity contractures for several days following treatment.
Although some clients notice a return to baseline contractures by the next morning, the temporary relief is substantial, enhancing their ability to engage in rehabilitation activities more effectively.
Advancements in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation
Another inspiring case involves a male client with a complete spinal cord injury at levels C3-C5. After ten sessions of StemWave therapy, administered twice weekly to his neck, there was a noticeable improvement in his physical strength.
Before treatment, his single-arm bicep row performance was:
- Left arm: 7.7 lbs
- Right arm: 8.1 lbs
Following ten sessions, his performance improved to:
- Left arm: 8.1 lbs
- Right arm: 9.1 lbs
This improvement underscores the powerful synergy between StemWave therapy and Project Walk’s activity-based therapy, significantly enhancing the client’s strength. Encouraged by these results, Project Walk plans to continue with another ten sessions and re-evaluate his progress.
